Mr. Jouahri obtained the best “A” rating awarded by the New York magazine in its report entitled “Central Banker Report Cards 2020”.

The Central Banker Report Cards, published annually by Global Finance since 1994, ranks central bank governors of over 101 key countries, including the European Union, the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, the Bank of African States. Central and Central Bank of West African States.

The editor and editorial director at Global Finance, Joseph Giarraputo, stressed on this occasion that central bankers face multiple challenges of different kinds, including the spread of the pandemic in several regions of the world in addition to inflation, which remains a problem. major concern. “The annual report of Global Finance thus highlights leaders who have succeeded in their monetary policy in the face of this difficult situation…”, he added.

The marks assigned by the magazine are classified on a scale of “A” to “F” and take into account the performance achieved in terms of controlling inflation, achieving the objectives of economic growth, monetary stability and the management of interest rates. “A” represents excellent performance and “F” total failure. Other subjective criteria are also taken into account in this ranking.
