Morocco increased its exports of black olives to the United States by 110% from January to July 2021, far surpassing those of Spain which fell 6% during the same period compared to 2020.
According to sources from the US customs office, the volume of exports of black olives from Spain to the United States stood at 5,921 tonnes at the end of July 2021, compared with 6,990 tonnes in 2020. During the same period, Morocco exported 6,418 tonnes of black olives to the United States, an increase of 110% compared to 2020. The cumulative decline in black olive exports to the United States is 69%, or 19,000 tonnes over the period, and is estimated at nearly 32,000 for a full year.
