Former U.S. Attorney General calls for sanctions against Algeria for its support of the Polisario, a terrorist organization

-

The former U.S. Attorney General for the State of Arizona, called for sanctions against Algeria because of its support for the separatist movement of Polisario. He spoke in an op-ed published in the Washington Times.

With evidence mounting against Algeria for its support of the Polisario Front, it is time for the United States to also name Algeria for what it is: a state sponsor of terrorism,” writes this former senior Arizona state official. For decades, Algeria, with the help of Iran, has provided military and material support to the Polisario Front, a terrorist organization that Algeria uses to destabilize neighboring Morocco (…) Iran provides this support to undermine the United States and its allies (in this case, Morocco),” writes Mark Brnovich.

Mark Brnovich argues that for decades, and with Iran’s help, Algiers has provided material and military support to the Polisario Front, “a terrorist organization in Western Sahara,” known for Polisario’s ties to terrorist groups in the Sahel region, used to destabilize neighboring Morocco.
