Energy research and innovation: A distinguished Moroccan in Italy


Djalila Ben Bouchta is the name of the young Moroccan researcher winner of the “ENI Award 2020” in the “Young talents of Africa” ​​section. An award she received Thursday, October 14, in Rome, during a ceremony chaired by Italian President Sergio Mattarella and marked by the presence of Moroccan Ambassador to Rome Youssef Balla.

She won over the jury, made up of scientists from prestigious research institutes including six Nobel Prize winners, with her research entitled “The development of a multidisciplinary approach to the provision of energy services”.

In addition, other distinctions were awarded to other young researchers, in particular the prize for research on the protection of air, water and soil awarded to the two German scientists Jürgen Caro and Jörg Kärger, the prize “Energy Transition” awarded to David Allen of the University of Texas, and the “Energy Frontier” prize won by Indian professor Chintamani Nages Ramachandra Rao.

ENI Award, also known as the “Nobel for energy”, is an international prize initiated since 1987 by the Italian oil and gas company ENI. Objective: to promote research and technological innovation in the field of energy and the environment.
