88% of Moroccans do not want to have a homosexual friend


88% of Moroccans would not want a gay friend, according to a study by the Moroccan Institute for Policy Analysis (MIPA).

Similarly, nearly half (45%) of those questioned do not trust foreigners or people practicing a religion other than Islam, indicates the study, which also notes that 76% of respondents would not have a atheist friend.

In addition, 74% of respondents believe that human rights are not respected in Morocco, while 95% believe that corrupt practices are widespread in the country.

The study was conducted last October and November with a sample of 1,500 people over the age of 18, 68% of whom live in urban areas.
