Morocco adopts the electronic visa for foreigners from July 10

-

On the instructions of HM the King, Morocco will adopt an electronic visa system for foreigners from July 10. This is what the government spokesman, Mustapha Baitas, has just announced at the end of the Government Council. Under this decision, foreigners from 49 countries will be able to apply for electronic visas, directly on a web platform and receive their visa online after 24 or 72 hours, depending on the degree of urgency.

Three categories are affected by this measure:

    • Foreigners subject to a visa to access the national territory and who reside in the European Union, the USA, Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan, Switzerland and New Zealand and Australia.
    • Foreigners with a Schengen visa from the USA, Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland or New Zealand which is valid for a minimum period of 90 days will also be able to benefit from this electronic visa.
    • Nationals of countries that benefit from easy entry into the USA and the Schengen zone, such as Thailand and Israel

This visa has a duration of 30 days and can be extended up to 6 months with multiple access permits.

Stamp duties will be published in the Official Bulletin.

For the deployment of this measure, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is already mobilizing 15 executives in 4 consulates.
